MEDIATION (FACILITATED
RESOLUTION)
Mediation
is a voluntary process in which parties involved in a dispute utilize a
trained, neutral third party to assist them in reconciling their
differences by resolving or managing their conflict through communication
and open discussion of issues. The parties determine their own resolution
through a process that allows joint action toward a mutually amicable
resolution. This confidential informal non-threatening environment usually
solves the conflict and restores the personal relationship.
